Pre-Application guidelines

  

  Madison Square South Miami LLC is pleased to announce that it is nearing completion of the first phase of the Madison Square Apartments located at 5944 SW 64th Street, South Miami. With the assistance of the City of South Miami, we are offering two and three bedroom apartments in a new affordable housing community to families earning up to 50% and up to 80% of the area median income (AMI). Such income amounts are set forth in the chart below. Among other things, units have porcelain tile, energy efficient appliances and impact windows. 


Applicants rules and regulations:

1. All pre-applications must be accurately submitted via email or mailed as noted below. Pre- Application period starts February 1, 2024 and ends March 1, 2024. Pre- Application can be downloaded below and in the contact page.


2. Pre-Applications from the following groups will be given preferential evaluations:

a. Current and former residents of the Marshall Williamson area (see map),

b. Social Workers who are providing 40 hours per week to children residing in the Marshall Williamson area, and

c. Professional “Role-Models” such as Educators, Police Officers, Firefighters or Medical care providers (more details are on the Pre-Application).


3. Any Pre-application that is not fully or accurately completed and/or is received after March 1, 2024 will be disqualified. 


4. Only one pre application per household will be considered. Any household that submits more than one application will be disqualified. If any member of a household is included on multiple pre-applications all of the pre-applications will be disqualified.

Applications must be received on or before December 10, 2020. Please print neatly in ink. All fields are required. Submit this form only. Incomplete preapplications will be disqualified. Madison Square South Miami, LLC shall not be responsible for materials lost/delayed through the mail.

What Do I need to know?

FAQ

  1. Do those that apply first received the units?  No all applications received during the application period will be evaluated.  Remember to apply before the deadline.  Late applications will not be accepted.  
  2. How long do I have to apply?  The applications start on February 1 and will close on March 1 or until units are full.  
  3. How many units are available?  We are offering 20 Units. 
  4. Is my income important?  Yes, this is an affordable housing project accepting 50% and 80% AMI applicants.  Income certification will be required.
  5. What is the Marshall Williamson Area?  If you live in this area please list this as in the preference.   The map is in the application and on this website. 
  6. How do I know if I qualify as a role model?  Included in the application and on this website is the definition as provided through the City of South Miami Homeowners Assistance Program.  If you meet the definition, please list this as a preference.  We may contact you for addiotnal information and support information to confirm this preference.  
  7. What is the tenant selection process?  Tenant pre-applications will be reviewed, scored based on preferences and Management's criteria.  Approved pre-applicants will be contacted and provide a formal application and lease.  Our goal is to notify all approved pre-applicants by March 1, 2024. 
  8. Where do I park?  Each unit will be assigned one parking space.  Decals will be registered to the tenant's car.
  9. Are pets allowed?  No, pets are not allowed in Madison Square.
  10. What other rules and regulations do I need to follow?  Please refer to the community rules and regulations for addiotnal information.
  11. Can I visit the project and see the units?  For safety reasons we cannot schedule visits.  We are still under construction. Approved applicants will be able to see the property after the City clears it safe for visitors.
  12. What if I have more questions?  Please call or email us and someone will get back to you.  We have a live representative during regular business hours.
